FAQ’s

  • We kindly request that all tours are by appointment only. You can request a tour on the “book tour” button on the top right of the website.

  • There is no guest or food count minimum. However, the maximum capacity is 299.

  • We are an open vendor venue meaning you can work with any caterer / bartending service that you would like as long as they are licensed an insured. In addition, this means that you an provide all of the alcohol yourself if desired. We also have a list of preferred vendors at your connivence. We do require a list of your hired vendors prior to your event.

  • The maximum capacity at the Vox Theatre is 299.

  • We ask that 60 days prior to the event you have an idea of your total headcount. This way we can create a customized floor plan so all of your guests are properly accommodated.

  • We have around 150 parking spots around the building and handicap parking right in front of the venue.

  • Yes! We have a garage that opens at the front of the Vox and the truck / cart can be brought fully inside our venue wherever you would like it placed as we have a high pressed tin ceiling and can accommodate it.

  • Yes! We are an open vendor venue so you can bring in all of your own alcohol as long as all of it is in the venue before the start of your event. All alcohol must be poured and served by a licensed and insured bartending service. We can provide Vox bartenders as well!

  • Yes! We have a garage in the front of the Vox that can be opened for easy access to the food truck. We also have a backyard area that the food truck can be pulled up to if you are waning to utilize our outdoor space.

  • Yes! We offer a 10% off discount off of our standard pricing for non-profits along with a reduced rental fee for a non-profit luncheon / breakfast.

  • Yes! Our outdoor games (giant jenga, corn hole, etc.) are free for you to use!

  • You have 10 hours of total time, this splits up by 3 hours of set-up time, 5-6 hours of event time, and 1 hour of load out time.

    *Additional load in / event hours can be purchased with all events concluding by midnight.

  • The county allows our events to go until 12am with an hour after for clean up. UNLESS it is NYE, then the event can go until 12:30am with load out until 1:30am.

  • Linens aren’t included, however, we offer in-house black linens or can get you a quote from our linen partner. You are also welcome to bring in your own linens! If you go through the Vox for linens, we will put them down on the tables and pick them up at the end of the night, you just enjoy.

  • We take care of tables, chairs, mopping, and sweeping. You just worry about your things (decorations, cake, florals, and any personal belongings, etc). We REQUIRE all personal items and decorations out of the Vox 1 hour after your event concludes.

  • Yes! We offer 2 bridal / grooms suites: one in the upstairs of the Vox Theatre and the other is a larger space next door - both of which are an additional fee.

  • Yes, the venue rental comes with 2 off-duty police officers who also act as parking attendants.

  • Yes! We offer Vox bartenders for your event. Our bartenders are all licensed and insured.

  • Your ceremony and reception are both included in the venue rental at no extra cost to have both here at the Vox.

  • Yes! 2 of the Hilton and Marriott hotels on the Country Club Plaza (7min from the Vox) offer discounted rates, room blocks, and specials!

  • Bring whoever you would like! There is no limit to the number of people allowed on tours.

  • Entry time is 10AM, due to KCK city ordinance, music has to be off by 12Midnight and then you’ll have another hour to clean up everything you brought / decorations. During the hour after the event is also when your vendors get everything cleaned up and out of the venue. The Vox staff will take care of tables and chairs, as well as the linens if you go through us to rent linens.

  • All vendors and guests need to be out of the Vox Theatre an hour after the event concludes. During this hour, vendors clean up and tear down and personal decor / items are taken out of the venue.

  • Yes, we include an event host who will be there before and after your event to manage vendor coordination, restrooms, trash, and other venue related tasks.

  • You will have 6 hours of event time on Friday & Saturday events.

    You will have 5 hours of event time on weekday & Sunday events.

    For all events there is 3 hours of set up time. These hours need to be on the day of your event, unless otherwise determined for the day before your event. You can purchase extra setup time ($125/hour) or event time ($350/hour) if needed.

  • We require a non-refundable $1,500 retainer to book your date. The remaining balance is due in two payments, half 90 days prior and the final payment 45 days prior to the event. The rental items invoice is due 2 weeks prior to your event. This can be paid through cash, card, or bank transfer.

  • The Vox on-site staff person is responsible for the Vox Theatre space and our staff. This person will make sure bathrooms are well stocked, the A/V system is working correctly, and lighting is to your satisfaction. The Vox staff person is not in charge of the flow of your timeline during the event time, vendor issues specific to your contract, etc. While not required, we highly recommend utilizing the services of a day-of coordinator for events such as weddings and award ceremonies. ​

  • We have 3 stalls in the women’s restroom (ADA accessible) and 1 stall and 1 urinal in the men’s restroom (ADA accessible).

  • Your vendors and caterers can arrive up to 2 hours before the start of your event time. The Vox event host will be on-site to let them in and coordinate with the vendors.

  • Yes! Feel free to use our complimentary WiFi.

  • There is no tax on the venue rental, however, there is sales tax on rental items and a processing fee if using a credit card.

  • No, we rent by the day, so youR event will be the only one.

  • The Vox Theatre does not allow loose glitter, and look to avoid glitter on decor as much as possible. Open flame is not allowed; flames must be covered or contained by votives. Balloons must be properly fastened/anchored, lest they float into our Big Ass Fan (that's the name of the brand).

  • Yes! While we are an open vendor space, we can easily create a rental quote that includes non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages and food. We will work with you to build a customized menu.
